"Wonderful hotel and great location”

I had read the very favourable reviews on trip advisor before I booked, and was not disappointed. I was extremely pleased with my stay and would definitely recommend this delightful hotel to anyone who is looking for a relaxing break in the lovely seaside town of Torquay.
The location is superb, being close to the main railway station, and is also very centrally located close to the centre of Torquay and all the main attractions. The lovely fishing village of Brixham and the delightful town of Paignton are nearby.
When we arrived at the station with our luggage, even though the hotel was within walking distance, Vicki very kindly offered to collect us and drove us to the hotel. There are parking facilities at the hotel. The room was very well appointed with a very comfortable bed, en suite bathroom, TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast was delicious and both Vicki and Steve were very welcoming hosts.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for an enjoyable and restful stay in Torquay.

This hotel is ideally positioned in Torquay within easy walking distance of the seafront, the town centre and Torre Abbey. It successfully combines Victorian charm with modern luxury.
My room was large , with a pleasant view over a rugby pitch, a well stocked bathroom, a TV, plus tea and coffee making facilities in a seating area. There was even a selection of books to read in the hallway outside the room. I slept very soundly and enjoyed a well cooked full English breakfast, in the attractively decorated dining room. The owners, Vicki and Steve were very friendly and accommodating.
Recommended for those who likew a hotel to have lots of character and warmth.

Late September Stay at Melba House Hotel

On arrival at the Melba House Hotel, I was immediately impressed by the beautifully furnised hotel in the perfect location, close to Railway Station and with easy walking distance to the town and harbour. The hotel has a front terrace overlooking a local Rugby ground, so I could imagine very pleasant times sitting on the terrace, with a glass of wine!
The owners Vicki and Steve were very welcoming and provided us with the best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel. Vicki and Steve provide a wide range of breakfast food to cater for all tastes.
We stayed in a Superior Double which was beautifully furnished with luxury bedding, towels and toiletries. The bed was so comfortable, I could have stayed in it all day, but the desire to explore Torquay got me out of it.
We only had time to stay for two nights, but I would definitely pick the same hotel again. Many thanks to the owners!
